About Love Island
Love Island launched in its current form on ITV2 in 2015 and has since spawned versions in the US (now on Peacock), Australia, Germany, and roughly a dozen other markets. The format is deceptively simple. A group of single contestants are dropped into a Mediterranean villa, paired up by audience or producer mechanics, and forced to couple, recouple, and survive elimination votes over several weeks. New islanders arrive mid-season to test loyalty. Public votes decide who stays and who is dumped. The show has become a summer institution, the kind of thing entire group chats organize around, and the format travels well because villa dynamics are basically universal regardless of accent.
This quiz is built around archetypes rather than specific contestants. Casts rotate every season, sometimes twice a year, so naming names would date the quiz inside of three months. Instead the results pool is six villa types that recur season after season across every version of the show: the Loyal one who shows up to actually find a connection, the Gamer who treats coupling like chess, the Comic who survives on charm and one-liners, the Drama Magnet who is somehow at the center of every recoupling crisis, the Quiet One who flies under the radar until the final week, and the Princess who arrived expecting to be chosen and is mildly insulted when she has to compete. Whether you watched the 2018 UK season, the most recent Peacock USA run, or All Stars, you have met all six.
The villa works as a pressure cooker because it strips people down to their dating defaults. The Loyal type leads with sincerity and gets blindsided when others don't. The Gamer wins challenges and votes and sometimes loses the audience for being too strategic. The Comic deflects everything until a real feeling sneaks through and breaks them open. The Drama Magnet doesn't start fights so much as attract them. The Quiet One is doing more emotional math than anyone realizes. The Princess actually does usually find a partner, just on her own terms. Picking which of these you would be in the villa says more about your real-world dating style than you might expect.
Meet the Characters
Each result in this quiz is anchored in a real character from Love Island — here's a quick guide to who you might end up matched with.
The Loyal One
The Couple-Up-And-Stay
You walked into the villa, picked one, and decided it was forever by night two. You don't game, you don't graft, you don't recouple. Your idea of Casa Amor is sitting on the swing seat looking sad. You're sweet, you're devoted, you cry beautifully, and the public absolutely loves you for it. Half the villa thinks you're naive. The other half is taking notes.
The Game-Player
The Three-Couples-By-Wednesday
You did not come here for love. You came here for the brand deal. You're already on couple number two, you've grafted three islanders before lunch, and you've got receipts on everyone. You read every recoupling like a chess board. The villa hates you. The producers love you. Your Instagram is going to do numbers.
The Comic
The Breakfast-Table Bit
You're the reason that group is still sitting at the breakfast table thirty minutes after the food is gone. You're the bit. You're the impressions. You're the running joke about Maya. You're not gaming, you're not crying, you're just having the most fun anyone in this villa has had since the show started. The other Islanders adore you. So does the audience.
The Drama Magnet
The Always-In-A-Row
Wherever you walk, a row breaks out. You did not start it (you started it). You've had three pull-asides today, you've cried once on purpose, and you've made one very specific person cry on purpose. You don't do quiet weeks. You will absolutely bring up something from week one at the reunion. Everyone in this villa is watching their back. Correctly.
The Quiet Stunner
The One The Boys Can't Read
You don't graft. You don't make speeches. You're not in the kitchen at 2am rehashing the row. You sit by the pool, you say one perfect sentence at recoupling, and you've somehow ended up in three couples without ever asking. The boys cannot read you. The girls trust you. The audience is begging you to pick someone, anyone, before Casa Amor.
The Princess
The Dressing-Room Diva
Your bag of straighteners has its own narrative arc. You've redone your glam three times today. You will not get in the pool. You will not eat that breakfast. You will absolutely cry if a boy doesn't bring you a cup of tea in bed. You're high-maintenance, you're aware of it, and you've decided that is a love language. The villa is irritated. You are unbothered.
How This Quiz Works
Every question presents you with options that explore different sides of the cast. As you answer, your match builds gradually toward the character you most resemble.
At the end, the character you most closely match becomes your result. The match percentage reflects how strongly your answers leaned toward that character versus the runners-up. A high match means your personality clearly fit one archetype; a closer call means you're a blend, which is just as common.
We don't ask for your email, sign-up, or any personal info to see your result. Take the quiz, get your character, share it if you want, and that's it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why aren't specific contestants like Molly-Mae or Ekin-Su in the results?
Casts turn over every season, often twice a year, and a quiz built around 2022 names would be unreadable by 2026. We built it around the six recurring villa archetypes instead, which means it works for every season of every version of the show, from UK to USA to Australia.
Does this work for the US version on Peacock too?
Yes. The villa archetypes are universal across versions. Whether you've been watching ITV's classic UK run, the Peacock USA seasons, the All Stars editions, or one of the international spinoffs, you've seen all six types play out. The questions don't reference any specific season's drama.
Which result is the rarest?
The Quiet One tends to be the rarest match in our data, partly because the trait combination (low reactivity, high observation, late emotional reveal) is genuinely uncommon, and partly because most quiz takers want to picture themselves at the center of villa drama. The Drama Magnet is the most common.
