Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows duology, published in 2015 and 2016, is a heist novel set inside her larger Grishaverse, the same world as the Shadow and Bone trilogy. The premise is pure Ocean's Eleven with a fantasy coat of paint. A teenage criminal mastermind named Kaz Brekker is hired to break a scientist out of the Ice Court, the most heavily guarded fortress in the world, in exchange for a payday large enough to change everyone's life.
