A heist that nobody's ever pulled, a prize nobody's ever escaped with, and a crew of six teenagers who've each got exactly one reason to bet their lives on this. The job is impossible. The crew is unstable. The boss is seventeen and walks with a cane. Are you the cold mastermind running the con, the silent acrobat in the rafters, the loud sharpshooter with a gambling problem, the witty Heartrender saving lives in three languages, the rigid soldier learning his orders were lies, or the gentle inventor everyone keeps underestimating? Take this 24-question quiz to find out which Crow you are.

About Six of Crows
Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows duology, published in 2015 and 2016, is a heist novel set inside her larger Grishaverse, the same world as the Shadow and Bone trilogy. The premise is pure Ocean's Eleven with a fantasy coat of paint. A teenage criminal mastermind named Kaz Brekker is hired to break a scientist out of the Ice Court, the most heavily guarded fortress in the world, in exchange for a payday large enough to change everyone's life. He assembles a six-person crew of misfits from the slums of Ketterdam: a sharpshooter on the run, a heartrending Grisha indentured to a brothel, a Fjerdan witch hunter, a demolitions expert, and a spy who can climb anything. Most of them have known each other for years. Almost none of them trust each other to start.
The duology found a second life when Netflix's Shadow and Bone adapted both the original trilogy and the Crows' storyline together, blending the casts in a way that introduced the Crows to readers who had skipped the Shadow and Bone books entirely. Although the Netflix series was canceled in 2023, the fandom has been agitating for a Six of Crows spin-off ever since, and 2026 has seen a fresh round of petitions and renewed creator interest in the property. Bardugo built the six leads with such distinct voices, traumas, and fighting styles that fan culture around the books has always treated them as a personality test waiting to happen. A character-match quiz is genuinely just a formal version of what readers have been doing in the margins of their copies for a decade.
The Crows cast works because each member is a different answer to the question of how you survive a city that wants to eat you. Kaz is intelligence as a weapon, the planner who would rather be feared than understood. Inej is faith and discipline carried into a profession that respects neither. Jesper is charm with an addiction underneath, the sharpshooter who needs the action more than the money. Nina is appetite as a personality, soft on the surface and steel underneath. Matthias is conviction having to learn the world is more complicated than the people who raised him said. Wylan is the sheltered kid who turns out to have a specific genius nobody saw coming. Picking yours is a real read on how you handle loyalty, fear, and want.
Meet the Characters
Each result in this quiz is anchored in a real character from Six of Crows — here's a quick guide to who you might end up matched with.
Kaz Brekker
The Bastard of the Barrel
You're seventeen, you walk with a cane, and you've already broken a bank, a man, and your own heart twice this week. You don't trust touch, you don't trust mercy, and you absolutely don't trust luck — you trust the plan you wrote at 3am, the people you've vetted six different ways, and the part of yourself that promised, years ago, that you'd never be the person tied to that piling again.
Inej Ghafa
The Wraith
You move through the world without making a sound. You were stolen, sold, and rebuilt, and you came out of it sharper than the people who hurt you. You believe in your own god, your own rules, and your own bone-deep code: never use your knives lightly, never abandon a friend, and never forget that your name is the first thing nobody can take from you.
Jesper Fahey
The Sharpshooter
You're loud, fast, and the most dangerous shot in the Barrel — also possibly its worst card player. You feel everything at full volume and run from most of it with a joke. You'd rather lose a thousand kruge than miss a chance to flirt with the dealer. Underneath the swagger, you love the people in your crew so much it terrifies you. So you make a quip and you reload.
Nina Zenik
The Heartrender
You can stop a man's heart with a thought and you'd rather stop the dessert tray with your fork. You weaponize charm. You weaponize hunger. You weaponize a whole language nobody else in the room speaks. You love loudly, you fight for your people unapologetically, and you take up exactly as much space as you want in every room you walk into.
Matthias Helvar
The Drüskelle
You were raised on certainty. You were taught who the enemy was, who the heroes were, and that the world made sense if you served it the right way. Then everything you believed got dismantled by a girl with a sharp mouth and a sharper mind. You're learning to think for yourself for the first time — and the more honest you let yourself be, the more terrifyingly soft you turn out to be.
Wylan Van Eck
The Demolitions Inventor
You're the gentlest person in the worst room in Ketterdam. You can't read words, but you can read fuses, blast radii, and how a man's eyes change when he's about to lie. You've been told your whole life what you couldn't do, and instead of arguing you've quietly become the only person in this city who can level a building, write a sonata, and still notice when someone needs a hand to hold.
How This Quiz Works
Every question presents you with options that explore different sides of the cast. As you answer, your match builds gradually toward the character you most resemble.
At the end, the character you most closely match becomes your result. The match percentage reflects how strongly your answers leaned toward that character versus the runners-up. A high match means your personality clearly fit one archetype; a closer call means you're a blend, which is just as common.
We don't ask for your email, sign-up, or any personal info to see your result. Take the quiz, get your character, share it if you want, and that's it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have read the Shadow and Bone trilogy first?
No. Six of Crows is set in the same world but stands completely on its own. The Netflix adaptation merged the two storylines, but the books were always meant to be readable in either order. This quiz only uses the Crows characters.
Is the Netflix Six of Crows spin-off actually happening?
As of 2026 nothing has been formally greenlit, but renewed fan campaigns and creator interest have kept the conversation alive. The actors who played the Crows in Shadow and Bone have publicly said they would return if a spin-off were announced.
Could I get Kuwei or one of the side characters?
Not in this edition. We kept the pool to the core six because adding peripheral characters thins out the personality reads. A Grishaverse-wide quiz with the Shadow and Bone cast plus the Crows is something we may build later.
