About Mob Psycho 100
Mob Psycho 100 began as a 2012 webcomic by ONE, the same creator behind One Punch Man, and was adapted into anime by Studio Bones across three seasons from 2016 to 2022. It follows Shigeo Kageyama, a middle schooler nicknamed Mob, who is one of the most powerful psychics in the world and would frankly rather not be. Mob is shy, emotionally reserved, and convinced that his telekinetic abilities don't make him special in any way that matters. He works after school for Reigen Arataka, a self-styled spirit medium who is completely fraudulent but charges Mob a few thousand yen per exorcism while the actual psychic work happens. The relationship between the two of them is the heart of the show, and it's one of the most unusual mentor-protege dynamics in anime.
Mob Psycho 100 is widely regarded as one of the best-animated anime of the modern era. Studio Bones treated each episode like a short film, giving the series a fluid, painterly action style that made even small character moments feel cinematic. After the third season ended in 2022, fans assumed the adaptation was complete. In 2026 Bones confirmed they are returning to the property for both a theatrical film and a spinoff series focused on Reigen's back-story, which has reignited fan engagement and brought a wave of new viewers to the original three seasons. Mob, Reigen, Ritsu, Teru, Dimple, and Serizawa each represent a different relationship to power, growth, and emotional honesty, which is exactly the spread a character-match quiz needs.
Mob Psycho 100's cast works because each character is a different theory of what to do with the power you happen to have. Mob is restraint, the conviction that your gifts don't entitle you to anything and that being a decent person is the harder and more important project. Reigen is competence built entirely out of bluffs that became real, the mentor who has been faking it so well for so long that he actually does know things. Ritsu is the younger sibling who finally gets the powers he envied and discovers they don't fix what he thought they would. Teru is what Mob would have been if he had let the validation go to his head. Dimple is appetite housed in a friendly green blob. Serizawa is fragility re-learning how to be in the world. Picking yours is a real question about how you carry yourself.
Meet the Characters
Each result in this quiz is anchored in a real character from Mob Psycho 100 — here's a quick guide to who you might end up matched with.
Shigeo 'Mob' Kageyama
The Suppressed Prodigy
You have more power than anyone in the room and you keep almost all of it under the surface. You're convinced your value comes from being a kind, ordinary person — not from the thing that makes you special. You'd rather struggle through normal life than coast on the talent that scares you. The wildest thing about you isn't the power. It's how badly you want to be a regular kid.
Arataka Reigen
The 100% Conman
You have absolutely no supernatural ability and you've built a successful career on charisma alone. You charge two hundred bucks for an exorcism, do the breathing exercise, and somehow it works because you actually care. You're a fraud about the powers and the world's most sincere mentor about everything else. The kids look up to you, and the wild part is you deserve it.
Ritsu Kageyama
The Perfectionist Little Brother
You spent your whole childhood being the well-rounded, popular one because your brother had the gift you wanted. Then you got the gift, and it turns out you weren't ready. You're sharp, ambitious, slightly ashamed of how badly you wanted to be special, and finally figuring out that being a good person is harder than being a powerful one.
Teruki Hanazawa
The Reformed Flashy Esper
You used to walk around like you were the main character because everyone told you that you were. Then you met someone genuinely stronger than you, lost everything in two minutes, and had to start over. You're flashier than you should be, sharper than you used to be, and now you'd take a hit for the kid who humbled you. Growth looks good on you.
Dimple
The Mischievous Spirit
You started as a cult leader, became a possession, and somehow ended up as the comic-relief best friend who occasionally tries to take over the world. You're sneaky, opportunistic, and weirdly attached to a kid you originally tried to manipulate. You'd say you don't care, but you keep showing up. People assume you're the villain. You're mostly just lonely.
Katsuya Serizawa
The Anxious Gentle Giant
You've been afraid of your own power your whole life, so you've been hiding from the world too. Now someone has finally given you a job and an umbrella and treated you like a person, and you're slowly figuring out how to exist outside. You're quiet, kind, profoundly powerful, and getting your driver's license at 28 is the bravest thing you've ever done.
How This Quiz Works
Every question presents you with options that explore different sides of the cast. As you answer, your match builds gradually toward the character you most resemble.
At the end, the character you most closely match becomes your result. The match percentage reflects how strongly your answers leaned toward that character versus the runners-up. A high match means your personality clearly fit one archetype; a closer call means you're a blend, which is just as common.
We don't ask for your email, sign-up, or any personal info to see your result. Take the quiz, get your character, share it if you want, and that's it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have watched all three seasons?
No. The six characters in the result pool are all introduced and developed by the end of Season 2. If you've watched the first season you'll recognize at least four of the six results. Season 3 expands the supporting cast but doesn't change the core personalities.
Is the Bones movie and spinoff confirmed?
Yes. Studio Bones officially announced both projects in early 2026, with the spinoff focused on Reigen's pre-Mob years. Release windows have not been finalized, but the anime is officially returning.
Could I get the antagonists as a result?
Not in this edition. We kept the result pool to characters from Mob's circle, including a couple of former antagonists who joined the cast (Teru and Serizawa). A villains-and-rival-espers edition with characters from the Claw arcs is on the maybe list.
