Outer Banks premiered on Netflix in April 2020, right as the world was looking for escapist summer television, and turned into a sleeper hit that has since run four seasons. The show centers on the Pogues, a tight-knit group of working-class teens from the Outer Banks of North Carolina (John B, JJ, Kiara, Pope, and later Sarah and Cleo), who get pulled into a multi-generational treasure hunt involving a sunken ship, a missing father, gold bars, the Royal Merchant, and eventually a Spanish cross.
