Birmingham, 1919. The war's over but it's still living inside everyone who came back, the Shelby family runs the bookmaking out of the Garrison, and there are razor blades sewn into the brims of the caps for a reason. Inspector Campbell's in town, the IRA wants something, the Italians want something else, and the only family that can keep the city in line is the one that scares it the most. Are you the calculating king who plans three wars ahead, the volatile brother held together with rage and prayer, or the matriarch who keeps every secret? Take this 24-question quiz to find out.

Question 1 of 24
About Which Peaky Blinders Character Are You?
Peaky Blinders ran six seasons on BBC and Netflix and turned a Birmingham razor-blade gang into one of the most aesthetically copied shows of the streaming decade. Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby is the centerpiece, but the Shelby family — Arthur, John, Michael, Polly, Ada, Finn — plus the rotating gallery of rivals like Alfie Solomons, Luca Changretta, and Oswald Mosley made the show as much about an ensemble of damaged operators as a single antihero. The Immortal Man feature film, set to close the saga in 2026, is bringing the fandom back to peak intensity.
This twenty-four question quiz figures out which Shelby or Shelby-adjacent operator you actually are. It tests how you handle loyalty when the stakes are lethal, how you negotiate with people who have more power than you, and what you do when family asks for something you cannot give. Results land on Tommy, Arthur, Polly, Michael, Ada, Alfie, John, or Luca with a percentage match and a runner-up, plus a read on which trait is steering the result.
Peaky Blinders is one of those rare shows where the supporting characters are as fully drawn as the lead, which is exactly what makes a character quiz worth taking. Polly Gray is a study in matriarchal authority. Arthur is a man trying to outrun his own violence. Alfie Solomons is a philosophy lecture in the form of a bakery owner. Picking which one you are is genuinely revealing because each character represents a distinct strategy for surviving in a world where institutions cannot protect you. The quiz takes that seriously.
Meet the Characters
Each result in this quiz is anchored in a real character from Which Peaky Blinders Character Are You? — here's a quick guide to who you might end up matched with.
Tommy Shelby
The Calculating King
You play three wars ahead and let everyone else catch up by the time the smoke clears. You're quiet because thinking is loud, and you're cold because feeling is dangerous — but the people you love know what's underneath, and they know what it cost you. By order of you, things tend to happen. By order of you, they also end.
Arthur Shelby
The Volatile Brother
You're the one who loves loud, fights louder, and carries the war home in a way that doesn't switch off. You'd burn the whole city for your family and apologize to God about it after — usually with a bottle in one hand and a Bible in the other. People mistake the rage for the whole story. It's not.
John Shelby
The Loyal Soldier
You're the one who doesn't ask why — you ask when and where. You'll ride with your brothers into anything, you'll laugh on the way, and you'll throw the first punch so they don't have to. You love your kids, you love a good vendetta, and you don't see the contradiction.
Polly Gray
The Matriarch
You ran this family while the men were at war and you've been quietly running it since they got back. You read a room before anyone speaks, you keep every secret worth keeping, and you've made peace with the price you've already paid. Cross the family and you'll find out exactly how much patience you have left.
Michael Gray
The Ambitious Heir
You came in clean, you got drawn in fast, and you turned out to be sharper than anyone wanted you to be. You can read a balance sheet, a man, and a room — and you've started wondering whether the throne should still be Tommy's. The hunger is real. The patience is shorter than it used to be.
Ada Shelby
The Intellectual Rebel
You read the books, you held the politics, and you spent half your life trying to leave the family business and the other half quietly running it from the side. You're the one who tells the truth no one else will say out loud, and you're the only Shelby who knows what the world looks like from outside the Garrison.
How This Quiz Works
Every question presents you with options that explore different sides of the cast. As you answer, your match builds gradually toward the character you most resemble.
At the end, the character you most closely match becomes your result. The match percentage reflects how strongly your answers leaned toward that character versus the runners-up. A high match means your personality clearly fit one archetype; a closer call means you're a blend, which is just as common.
We don't ask for your email, sign-up, or any personal info to see your result. Take the quiz, get your character, share it if you want, and that's it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the quiz include characters from The Immortal Man film?
Not at launch. The result pool sticks to the six-season run because that is what most users have actually watched. If the film lands and introduces a new headline character, we will revisit.
Can I get Alfie Solomons even though he is not a Shelby?
Yes. Alfie is in the result pool. His trait profile — performative menace, theological tangents, sudden violence — is too distinct to leave out, even though he never wore a peaked cap full-time.
Is Tommy the default high-percentage result?
No. The scoring is calibrated so Tommy only lands when answers cluster around control, calculation, and self-destruction in roughly equal measure. A lot of users assume they will get Tommy and end up with Polly or Arthur instead, which is usually more accurate.
