Sold Out on You runs a tight twelve episodes, and the shape of it is a slow uphill. Nothing here scores below 8.3 and nothing above 9.0, so the whole season fits inside a seven-tenths band — this is a show that found its register fast and rarely wobbled out of it.
The two co-peaks both come from confessions. S1E9, “A Drunk Phone Call Hears the Confession He Never Meant to Send,” is the high point because it lets feeling slip out sideways, through a call nobody planned to make — the kind of accident that’s truer than any sober speech. The finale, S1E12, “The Farm, the Confession, and the Sellout That Sold Out First,” ties it by paying everything off: the romance, the buyout plot, and the title’s pun all resolve at once. Just under them sit S1E6, “Dam Ye-jin Finally Stops Running,” and S1E8, “Love Is Easy Until the Bill for the Past Comes Due” — both turning points where the guard finally drops.
The dip is all front-loaded. S1E1, “Dam Ye-jin Can Sell Anything Except Rest,” is the weakest at 8.3, doing pilot housekeeping, and S1E2 (8.5) is still scene-setting. By E3 the show clicks and stays clicked. Everything from E4 onward holds at 8.7 or better — a back half with no soft spots, which is rarer than a single great episode.
